Plain-language summary. We only collect what you choose to give us through this website — typically your name, email, phone number and a short message or the mortgage scenarios you ask us to email you. We use it to answer you and discuss your mortgage options. We never sell it. We send marketing email only if you tick the optional box, and you can unsubscribe at any time. When you become a client, the formal mortgage application is governed by the privacy practices of Active Lending and the Mortgage Alliance Network in addition to this policy.
1. Who We Are
This website, rajeshmortgages.ca (the “Site”), is the personal professional website of Rajesh Chandrasekaran, a Mortgage Agent Level 1 licensed by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) under Licence #M26000775. Rajesh is licensed with and acts on behalf of Active Lending (FSRA Brokerage Licence #12595), an independently owned and operated franchise of the Mortgage Alliance Network, located at 235-7025 Tomken Rd, Mississauga, ON L5S 1R6.
In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Rajesh Chandrasekaran in his capacity as a licensed mortgage agent operating this Site. “Rajesh Mortgages” is a personal brand and not a separate legal entity or brokerage.
2. Scope of This Policy
This policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit the Site, submit a contact form, use our calculators, request an emailed report, or book a call. It is written to comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which governs private-sector privacy in Ontario, and with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
If you proceed to a formal mortgage application, additional information (such as income documents, credit bureau reports and property details) is collected under the mortgage brokerage’s own privacy policy and consent forms, as required by the Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act, 2006 (Ontario). Those documents will be provided to you separately at that stage.
3. Accountability
Rajesh Chandrasekaran is responsible for personal information under his control and acts as the privacy contact for this Site. Contact details are in Section 16. Personal information transferred to service providers for processing remains our responsibility, and we use contractual and other means to ensure a comparable level of protection.
4. Information We Collect
We collect only the information you choose to provide, limited to what is necessary:
- Contact form: first and last name, email address, phone number, the topic you select and any message you write.
- Calculator email reports: your name, email address and the mortgage scenario inputs you entered (amount, rates, terms, amortizations). Calculator inputs you do not submit are processed only in your browser and are not sent to us.
- Consent records: the date and time you gave consent, the exact wording you agreed to, and technical details such as your IP address and browser type. We keep this to demonstrate compliance with PIPEDA and CASL.
- Booking a call: if you schedule through the embedded Calendly widget, Calendly collects your name, email and chosen time under its own privacy policy and shares them with us to hold the appointment.
- Site usage: aggregated, cookie-free analytics (page views, device type, country) via Vercel Analytics. This data does not identify you personally.
Please do not send sensitive financial documents (such as pay stubs, tax returns or bank statements) through the contact form. We will provide a secure channel for documents if and when a formal application begins.
5. Why We Collect It
We identify our purposes at or before the time of collection. We use your information to:
- Respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about your mortgage needs and options.
- Deliver the calculator report or other content you specifically requested.
- Prepare for a consultation you have booked.
- Send rate updates, market insights and mortgage tips by email — only with your express consent.
- Maintain records demonstrating your consent, as required by PIPEDA and CASL.
- Meet legal, regulatory and professional obligations, including those set by FSRA.
- Protect the Site against spam, fraud and abuse.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for any purpose that is not described here without first obtaining your consent.
6. Consent (PIPEDA)
Every form on this Site includes a required privacy-consent checkbox. By ticking it you give meaningful, informed consent to the collection, use and disclosure described in this policy. The wording you agree to is:
“I consent to Rajesh Chandrasekaran (Mortgage Agent Level 1, Active Lending – Mortgage Alliance) collecting and using the personal information I provide to respond to my inquiry and discuss my mortgage options, as described in the Privacy Policy.”
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us using the details in Section 16. Withdrawing consent may mean we are unable to continue assisting you with your mortgage inquiry. Where required by law, we may collect, use or disclose information without consent — for example, to comply with a subpoena, a regulatory investigation by FSRA, or to detect and prevent fraud.
7. Electronic Messages (CASL)
Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation requires your consent before we send commercial electronic messages such as newsletters or rate alerts. We treat this separately from privacy consent, so you can work with us without ever receiving marketing email.
- Express consent:marketing email is sent only if you tick the optional, un-pre-checked box that reads: “Yes, I would like to receive occasional rate updates, market insights and mortgage tips by email from Rajesh Chandrasekaran. I understand I can unsubscribe at any time.”
- Implied consent: when you make an inquiry, CASL permits us to reply and follow up about that inquiry for up to six months. We will not add you to a marketing list on that basis alone.
- Transactional messages: a calculator report you request, a booking confirmation or a direct reply to your question is not marketing and does not require express consent.
- Identification: every commercial message we send identifies Rajesh Chandrasekaran, Active Lending– Mortgage Alliance, our mailing address, phone number and email.
- Unsubscribe: every marketing email contains a working unsubscribe link. You may also withdraw consent by emailing rajeshc@mortgagealliance.com. Requests are honoured within 10 business days as required by law, and usually much sooner.
- Records: we keep a record of when and how you gave consent, including the wording displayed to you.
8. Disclosure & Service Providers
We disclose personal information only as follows:
- Active Lending / Mortgage Alliance:as a licensed agent, Rajesh operates under the supervision of his brokerage. Inquiry details may be recorded in the brokerage’s systems for compliance and supervision purposes.
- Lenders, insurers and credit bureaus:only when you proceed to a formal application and sign the brokerage’s consent forms. Nothing you submit through this Site is sent to a lender or credit bureau.
- Service providers: companies that host the Site and process messages on our behalf, currently Vercel Inc. (hosting and cookie-free analytics), Resend Inc. (transactional email delivery), Calendly LLC (appointment booking) and HeyGen (hosting of the welcome video). Each is bound to use information only to provide its service to us.
- Legal requirements: where required by law, court order, or a regulator such as FSRA or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to protect our legal rights.
9. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes identified above or as required by law. Website inquiries that do not lead to a mortgage application are retained for up to 24 months and then deleted. Consent records are kept for as long as we send you commercial electronic messages and for three years afterward, so we can demonstrate compliance if CASL compliance is questioned. If you become a client, records relating to your mortgage transaction are retained by the brokerage for at least six years after the transaction, as required under Ontario mortgage brokering regulations. Information no longer required is securely destroyed or anonymized.
10. Safeguards
We protect personal information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. The Site is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption) with security headers enabled. Form submissions are processed server-side, validated and delivered by email to a business inbox; they are not stored in a public database. Access to that inbox is protected by strong authentication and limited to Rajesh. Service providers are selected for their security practices and are contractually bound to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; if we become aware of a breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Privacy Commissioner as PIPEDA requires.
11. Accuracy, Access & Correction
We rely on you to provide accurate information and to tell us when it changes. You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, how it has been used, and to whom it has been disclosed. You may also request a correction. Write to us using the details in Section 16; we will respond within 30 days as PIPEDA requires, and we may need to verify your identity before releasing information. There is no fee for reasonable requests. In limited cases the law may prevent us from disclosing certain information; if so, we will explain why.
12. Cookies, Analytics & Embedded Tools
The Site itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar tracking tools. Vercel Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated usage statistics without cookies or persistent identifiers. Our mortgage calculators run entirely in your browser; your inputs are not transmitted to us unless you choose to email yourself a report.
Some pages embed third-party tools that may set their own cookies when you interact with them: the Calendly scheduling widget and the HeyGen video player. These are governed by the respective providers’ privacy policies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
13. Storage Outside Canada
Some of our service providers (including Vercel, Resend, Calendly and HeyGen) store or process data on servers located in the United States. While outside Canada, your information may be subject to access by foreign courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under the laws of that jurisdiction. We use reputable providers with strong contractual and security commitments, and we limit what is transferred to what is necessary to operate the Site and respond to you.
14. Children & Minors
Mortgage services are available only to adults. This Site is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology or the law. The effective date at the top of this page will change accordingly, and material changes will be highlighted on this page. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy. This version is effective September 6, 2026.
